We are all so loving the new BBC adaptation of Tolstoy's War and Peace. Each episode is breathtakingly beautiful; the costumes esquisite, the locations stunning. Our only fault is that it is always over too soon. So why not prolong this gloriousness and create your own wedding based on the Napoleonic Russian aristocracy?
This glorious, new to our site, North Yorkshire wedding venue, is holding a wedding fair in April. We know that this may seem like quite a long way in advance to tell you about it, but it would be good to book your tickets now as it promises to be a pretty spectacular day. Camp Katur want to make sure your marriage is full of fantasy and splendour. They have minimal restrictions and are open to the wackiest of suggestions! Let your imaginations flow and make your dreams come true.
Camp Katur is the perfect alternative wedding venue for an unforgettable experience in a magical setting. Set within the natural beauty of a 250 acre estate you will find their Glamping Village with unique accommodation options including Safari Tents, Tipi's, Bell Tents, Hobbit Pods, Geo Domes and the UK's only 360 degree Panoramic Woodland Hide Unidome (pictured below)
The 26-year-old gold medallist married Daniel Shand, an accountant and former cyclist, in a civil ceremony held at the countryside venue. Joanna was introduced to Daniel by her Olympic teammate Lizzie Armitstead several years ago. Looking radiant in a pink lace dress, Joanna was accompanied by four bridesmaids, Keeley and Natalie Shand plus two fellow national cyclists Dame Sarah Storey and Lizzie Armitstead. Here are a few pics from her wedding which was in July last year.
You don't have to be Kate Moss to look amazing in tartan - honestly! We just chose this picture because we love it....as we love the idea of a Scottish wedding. I mean, it's just instantly romantic isn't it - without trying. Not just the Gretna Green thing - although how fun would that be? But the dramantic scenery, the bagpipes, the history, even the weather!
