The house itself sits in the middle of its own grounds, mainly laid to lawn, with pretty flower beds and an orchard to the rear.

It is positioned at the head of the Slad valley. The house and gardens enjoy amazing views. The Slad Valley, made famous by Laurie Lee’s cider with Rosie, is a hilly countryside with deep valleys whose green slopes are a patchwork of small fields, hedgerows and woodland.

The house itself retains many of its original features, beams, flagstone, stone spiral staircases and inglenook fireplaces etc. It also has large windows showing off the stunning panoramic views, unusual for a property of this period, which were tastefully installed by the previous owner (the current owners’ grandmother) a local artist: Diana Lodge.
