Here Come the Brides
At the upcoming V&A exhibition due to open in May
We can't wait for the opening of this exhibition of wedding dresses, spanning 1775-2014, at the Victoria &Albert museum in London. The exhibition will showcase around 70 wedding outfits and numerous accessories, and will include garments by designers such as Norman Hartnell (who designed the Queen's wedding dress!), Christian Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano and Victorian designer Charles Frederick Worth. It also features the purple dress worn by Dita Von Teese when she got married to Marilyn Manson, and the outfits worn by Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale. This promises to be a
really fascinating journey, taking us through the history of wedding attire and giving us a glimpse into the lives of the wearers.
We've no idea what exact dresses will be included, but we've picked out some images of wedding dresses from some of the designers that will be featured.
Wedding Dresses 1775-2014 opens at the V&A on 03 May 2014 and finishes on 15 March 2015. For more information go to www.vam.ac.uk
