Another of our amazing destination wedding venues
Villa Bellagio is a new addition to our destinations wedding portfolio and we are thrilled to have it on the site. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious Villa hotels on the famous Italian Lake Como. We think the pictures speak for themselves! The royal hall is a true masterpiece of the 'imperial' style and the celing is decorated with frescos and golden stuccos. The lighting is diffused by large bronze and chrystal chandeliers to evoke the era of Italian nobility.
Destination Wedding at Lake Como
We are so excited about this new addition to our venue portfolio! Villa Cernobbio is an amazing private villa dating from the 16th century, sitting on the shores of Lake Como - and we cannot imagine a more romantic place to have a wedding. The villa is situated directly on the lakeshore with a panoramic view, and also offers several different terraces which you could use for both a romantic symbolic ceremony and your reception. As well as the lake the villa has its own beautiful garden with baroque fountains. This venue is part of Class Venues Service, based in Italy,
Another Destination Wedding at Lake Como
Last week we told you about Villa Cernobbio, and this is another beautiful venue from Class Venues Service. This offers you the historic beauty of a private villa but with the services offered by a small hotel. There are 32 rooms that could accomodate up to 75 of your wedding guests - image the weekend you have!! Like Villa Cernobbio, the terraces offer panormaic views of the lake and you can have a civil ceremony on one of them, or alternatively there is a little church only 200 metres from the villa. If the weather is fine (which of course it mostly is!) you can have the whole ceremony outside. In case of bad weather there are two really elegant internal halls.
Hints and Tips (as promised last week!)
Ok so we've done the research for you! And here are our best hints and tips for planning your dream weddding abroad....
Think about the type of wedding that you want whether it's a beach, culture, city, countryside. And what type of weather you might want too! Bear in mind who is coming to your wedding - your venue needs to be suitable for children and /or elderly guests!
Send out 'Save the Date' notes to your guests well in advance - particularly if you would like many of your friends and family to join you. Many of them may want to have a holiday around your wedding day, and will need the time to sort it out.
Use a professional wedding consultancy / planner. This really is the top tip - they will do all the hard work for you and make recommendations, saving you a great deal of time as they will know all the local suppliers and regulations. It really will help you to relax on your wedding day.
Make sure you are clear on the paperwork you will need (wedding planner will be good here too!) Without it you will not be able to get married abroad and/or your wedding will not be valid once you are back home.
Book overseas wedding insurance!! Yes really!
Keep your guests up to date with your wedding day plans. Set up a wedding website and use it to give your guests information on you and on your wedding destination. You can also get feedback from them e.g. a list of their favourite songs solves the DJ playlist!
Brides, choose a suitable dress. Most wedding dress shops stock a range of destinatoin wedding dresses and can advise you on the most suitable fabrics for warmer destinations. Be sure to purchase a box to put the dress in so that it travels well.
