Fabulous Outdoor Wedding Venues
We have many wonderful venues on the site which offer an outside space where you can hold a ceremony. In England, to make it legal, you have to get married in a permanent structure but this can literally mean anything from pavilions, gazebos, bandstands - even a tree house as long as it has a proper roof! The guests can remain outside so they don't have to be big. In Scotland, outdoor weddings are legal and there doesn't have to be a permanent structure at all. We have featured four great venues here but there are many more to choose from on the site….
Barnsley House
Barnsley House

Barnsley House was built in 1697 of Cotswold stone and the house and grounds have gained international acclaim as a place of remarkable beauty so it's gothic summer  is pretty much the perfect place to hold your ceremony.

Temple island
Temple Island

Temple Island is situated a mile and a half downstream of the picturesque market town of Henley, on one of the most beautiful reaches of the River Thames. Located amidst rolling water meadows and surrounded by wooded hills.

How romantic is this?

This is strictly a summer option..

Whilst we're talking seasons...

Well unless you particularly want a Narnia-esque wedding! Anyway, Valley Hotel, situated in the Ironbridge Gorge, Shropshire, has a beautiful Victorian-style gazebo for civil wedding ceremonies.  The hotel has only recently erected this, so if you are planning your wedding for next summer, and an outdoor wedding has always been your dream, then do take a look at the Valley Hotel (on this site)... and (wierd coincidence!) you could always contact Drew Whitfield (see previous blog post) as he is based in the same Shropshire region...
