Luxury Wedding Venues

On a grand scale...

Luxury Wedding Venues

For those of you who've got the budget, planning a wedding on a grand scale can be really exciting! These are two luxury venues on a very grand scale that we think are amazing, and both very different. The famous Langham 5-star hotel has enchanted royalty, dignitaries and celebrities since 1865 and offers impeccably luxurious surroundings on London's Regent Street. They have several different spaces so even if you want a small and intimate wedding you can still do it on a grand scale. They are full-licensed to host weddings for all religions and can accommodate dfferent food requests including Kosher and Halal! We've been to the Langham (only for drinks, sadly) and would really love to

Pentille Castle has the wow factor...

Cornish Wedding Venue

Only 15 minutes drive from Plymouth, Pentille Castle offers a truly romantic setting for your wedding. The spectacular Cornish location, extensive mature gardens and dreamy views across the River Tamar all remind us of Daphne Du Maurier whose atmospheric novels were inspired by the dramatic scenery of Cornwall (and if you're interested in a literary-themed wedding then have a look at our last couple of blogs or look up our blog on Black Wedding Dresses - Mrs Danvers anyone??). Talking of which... we thought we'd give you some inspiration for great venues for a literary wedding.  Barns appear to be the most popular, and we really love The Long Hall Ramster, situated on the Surrey / West Sussex borders. It has the perfect rustic-y feel for housing vintage books and any other literary connections that you might

Dickens Themed Weddings

In a beautiful City of London Venue

Dickens Themed Weddings

If you are planning a winter wedding, nothing shouts 'Winter' or 'Christmas' more than Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. That and being in the heart of the city of London! Round every corner you almost expect to bump into Pip or the Artful Dodger..! We reckon that literary-themed weddings are on the up, and as we know we have already done The Great Gatsby. There are endless possibilities when it comes to decor and dress for a Dickens-themed wedding; indeed Miss Havisham, the fraying, fantastical beauty in 'Great Expectations', provided the inspiration for a collection of ethereal and dramatic extravagance by the British-based designer brand, Marchesa (see main picture). A great modern take!
