London Wedding Venues on Water
Or more venues with a 'watery' theme...
Back on to our 'watery' theme which we wrote about a few weeks ago, we thought we'd flag up these two beautiful and very cool London venues, both of which have amazing views overlooking water. West Reservoir Centre is one of our most unusual venues as the 1930s tower boasts fascinating structural design elements. There are outdoor terraces which overlook Hackney's West Reservoir and really give you a sense of being on a romantic waterfront. If that is indeed what you want, then of course there are all the venues which flank the Thames, and of those, we really love the Design Museum which is situated at Shad Thames, close to historic Tower Bridge. Directly on the River
Thames, it offers unrivaled views of the river, City of London and Canary Wharf. For more info on either venue click onto their listing details at the end of this article - where you will also find a watery poem by Wordsworth - composed on Westminster Bridge in 1803. Just a little extra we've thrown in for you!!!
Earth has not anything to show more fair:
Dull would he be of soul who could pass by
A sight so touching in its majesty:
This City now doth, like a garment, wear
The beauty of the morning; silent, bare,
Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples lie
Open unto the fields, and to the sky;
All bright and glittering in the smokeless air.
Never did sun more beautifully steep
In his first splendour, valley, rock, or hill;
Ne'er saw I, never felt, a calm so deep!
The river glideth at his own sweet will:
Dear God! the very houses seem asleep;
And all that mighty heart is lying still!
