Make an appointment to see your minister, priest, rabbi or registrar to fix the wedding date, and book the place of ceremony.

Book your caterer if the wedding venue doesn’t provide one.
Order the wedding cake.

Choose your best man, ushers and attendants. The numbers of ushers and attendants will be partly dictated by the number of guests and the size of your ceremony venue and reception venue.
Choose your dress and your attendants’ outfits
Find a florist and order the bouquets, buttonholes and arrangements for the church and reception venue.
Decide on a company / companies for a wedding gift list and start planning what to ask for.
If you are getting married in high season, it may be worth booking your honeymoon early. If you are changing your name, allow plenty of time to have your passport renewed. Remember you’ll have to ask the minister or registrar to sign the application for you.
Work out the music and readings you want and then discuss them with your minister or registrar.
Order the invitations and envelopes, along with the menus, place cards, seating plan and order of service.
Book transport to the wedding venue and onto the reception for you, your parents and attendants. Book the transport (helicopter, bike, car) to take you to your first night hotel or the airport.
Order the groom’s formalwear, as well as the best man’s, attendants etc
Choose the wedding ring(s)
Buy presents for the best man and attendants
Buy going away and honeymoon clothes.
Find out if you need visas or inoculations for your honeymoon.
Make an appointment with a make up artist and a hairdresser to try out different looks. Remember to take your veil and tiara if you are having one.

Make sure that your fiancé has organised the rings, his wedding clothes, first night hotels and buttonholes.
